Dads

Happy Father's Day to all those dads in the world! I don't personally know what it's like to be a dad, but I know what it's like to be a daughter, and I think we have just as much to be proud of in our dads as they do for us. After all, they're the ones that do everything from changing dirty diapers and having sleepless nights, to having to kill spiders that are obviously attacking us in the shower, teaching us how to drive, teaching us about fuses, helping us move into our first apartment, and walking us down the aisle. I have learned more [useful] things from my dad than I ever will at school. I've learned how to screw in a lightbulb; that in a life or death situation you can use tin foil instead of a fuse plug thinger [although it's not recommended]; how to drive a car [mostly... we're still working on that]; how to drive a boat;  how to make a mean vegetable curry; how to draw perspective; and many other practical things that actually might come in useful [unlike math 11]. Now, as well as being the guy who shows me to use WD40 on my Tonka Trucks when they're getting stiff, he's also always there to listen [unless it's about TV or what my dream was last night...] and hand out very good advice. I don't know about your guys' dads, but my dad also has the best fashion sense of any guy I've ever met. I remember many summers shopping for back-to-school clothes at the Gap with my dad. At the risk of sounding cliché [and we all know how much I hate that!], you're my hero, Dad!
