Well...yeah...that's...a little awkward.

So obviously there can be some pretty uncomfortable moments in life. The day after you break up with someone; the next 3 months...[when you're not on speaking terms, but still have half your classes together and have to endure those horrible times when you drop your pencil under his seat and have to ask him to get it for you]; when you make a faux pas; when you're with someone who's trashing your best friend, but you're friends with that person too; when someone thinks you are friends, but you really don't actually like that person, and they won't get your hints. There are lots of uncomfortable situations. So what do you do with them? I figure you have 3 options:

1. Avoid it--plague style.

2. Stare it down and refuse to accept it.

3. [my personal favorite] Make everyone else uncomfortable too! In my mind, I find it easiest to just make everyone in the room feel awkward when I am feeling uncomfortable; and not even necessarily about the same thing I'm feeling awkward about. You may make a fool of yourself, but at least you won't be the only one feeling a little squeamish; and I actually find that it eases my discomfort, by increasing everyone else's! After all, you wouldn't want to leave anyone out!

So today's life lesson: Always aim to out-awkward the most awkward thing.

What do you guys do when you are faced with an extremely uncomfortable situation?
