Doing It Right

Monday, December 20, 2010

I want to write a poem

To share my feelings

But I can't seem to get it right.

It would have to be perfect

To do you justice.

I'd mention bubbles,

and pigeons too.

I'd say how you make me feel

Like a thousand twinkling stars

Are about to burst from my heart and into your hands.

Well that's sort of gross.

So maybe I'd just write down that

You make me feel

Good.

I'd talk about how you

Make me smile.

How you don't ask me to.

You demand it.

I might slip in a word or two

About how you spoil me,

And make me feel like the luckiest girl

In the world.

I'd tell that world

What a gentleman you are,

And how compatible we are.

I might complain a little

About face hugs,

And make a few angry kitty sounds.

There is one thing I want to say.

But I won't say it to the world.

I'll just whisper it, very small,

So it's just me and you

And that is all.
