... or dinner of foodies. Either way, this evening my family [and dearest Tennille] are being treated to a meal Tennille and I put together. We wanted to make a dessert to go with our dinner [which started out small], but when we started meringues the dinner turned into a full fledged French extravaganza! We have created chicken [and maybe pork?] with onions and a Tuscan spice mix my mother is quite fond of [rosemary, basil, other things...]; scalloped potatoes [with rosemary and cilantro--which we thought was parsley]; and a vegetable that remains undecided at this point. Dessert shows itself in the form of individual meringues topped with berry compote. Delicious? Indeed. The table is set with the nice cutlery [not the nice china, though, since it's hardly French at all], and the ambiance is set for fine dining with Pink Martini. I believe fully in making every dinner an event; and why wouldn't you?! Sitting down with family, friends, and good food--what else is better?
