If you name your kid something average, they'll BE average.
Don't hate me because I speak truth. I'm not going to mention any names, but think about the averagely named people you know. Do they go above and beyond? Do they stand out? Can you even think of any? Yeah. That's what I thought. People with unusual names for their setting [era, niche, etc.] automatically have a leg up on being different and standing out, so they just take it to that next level. Yes? Yes. So my suggestion? Name your kid something awesome... like Steel-Dragon.
