'ello 'ello! Another busy day here in the city [I'm actually looking forward to going back to the island to take a breather from the sore, pavement feet I've got going on right now]. Today my sister and I ventured to Broadway to tackle some tacos, walked around my new campus [I'm trying to familiarize myself with it so I'm not the girl who gets lost on the first day and is late for all her classes], and went downtown to watch Chimpanzee - the DisneyNature movie about Oscar the chimp who leads quite the extraordinary life - I'm not going to tell you what happens, because I expect y'all to go watch it!
So first off, we went to my new school's campus. All is well and good there, but I have to say, I always feel so young there... even though I'm in second year, I feel like such a n00b whenever I go there. I don't really like that feeling... so I'm hoping it will go away. I'm getting more and more nervous as this new beginning approaches [as versus getting more comfortable with the idea...]. The campus is quite nice, however large it is, and has some pretty splendid buildings - the library being one of them.

Said splendid library [made even more splendid by the glorious weather we had today!] |
So after we finished up out at school, we headed down to my sister's favourite taco place. I can't for the life of me remember the name of it, but it's delicious! And inexpensive! And they're so friendly there! They also have glass bottles of Coke, which are possibly one of my favourite things in the world. I swear it tastes better out of glass. As far as the tacos went, I tried two kinds - you get four tacos and can mix and match any four kinds you want - I decided to just get two kinds in case I really liked them, and I'm glad I did - the Al Pastor, which is pork marinated in achiote chilli and pineapple, and the Pollo Con Mole, which is chicken with chocolate con mole sauce - it's flipping delicious! Chocolate tacos? I'll take it! I don't have a picture of my tacos, because apparently my phone decided it hated me today and only saved two of the photos I took. The one I took of my tacos was only half taco, anyway, because I couldn't wait to eat them before I took a snapshot! So here's a picture of my glass bottle Coke to stand in the taco's place.

After our delicious Mexican feast, we headed downtown on the train to the movie theatre where we almost had a private screening of the new Disney movie Chimpanzee - until three other people decided to come in last minute. It was such a great movie though! What with my love for, in my opinion, the greatest of the great apes, and my appreciation for a well narrated documentary/animal drama [see Whale Wars for more obsessive info.], it really couldn't go wrong!
Tomorrow is should be a less busy day. I'm heading back to my little island to my cats and relaxation after a sushi lunch with a friend of mine from back east! I can't express how excited I am to be seeing a familiar face tomorrow! It's so strange that my familiar faces are not from where I'm supposed to call "home". But my east coast life is currently what is familiar to me, so I guess that's that!
